Riki Donnelly is a Partner at Preston Russell Law and practices within our Litigation, Employment and Resource Management teams.

Riki has extensive litigation experience, appearing in forums from the Employment Relations Authority and District Court, through to the Court of Appeal.

Riki’s ability to instinctively know whether a situation requires court action, mediation or negotiation sees clients receiving the best possible results for their particular circumstance. While meticulous when it comes to detail, he also has the ability to look at the broader picture and present clients with a full spectrum of options.

Riki is particularly experienced in civil litigation. He has covered a wide range of issues from breaches of contract through to bankruptcy proceedings, estate disputes to claims based on tort. This broad range of expertise allows Riki to approach legal disputes in a well-informed manner, and be aware of any issues that can arise throughout legal proceedings.

Riki is also able to advise and, if necessary, defend health and safety prosecutions.

Riki’s past community involvement includes being a Board Member of the Southland Community Law Centre and an Executive member of Te Hunga Rōia Māori o Aotearoa. He is currently the Honorary Solicitor for Southland Stock-car Drivers Association.
