Minimum wage set for significant rise.
The Government has announced that it is increasing the minimum wage to $17.70 an hour from 1 April 2019. There be further increases on 1 April 2020 ($18.90) and 1 April 2021 ($20).
The starting-out and training wages will also increase $13.30 to $14.16 per hour from 1 April 2019. These are legislated to be 80% of the adult minimum wage.
